Airport Extreme

More on my continued love affair with the Apple Airport Extreme…

It still rocks, haven’t need to reset it EVER, with my previous Netgear, resetting it was as much part of my day as using the toilet.

Just as a test, I whacked an old iPod shuffle into the USB port. It popped up on the Finder side bar almost right away, and I could save files to it without any hassle at all.

I now use it as a little interchange disk between my two Macs, I usually use dropbox, but for various boring reasons, I can’t always do this, the shuffle works wonders.

In a related topic, I’m shocked it’s taken this long for someone, anyone to create something like OSX Lion’s AirDrop. Think about it, you’ve got two Macs, it should be totally trivial to move files between them. It isn’t, you’ve got to enable sharing, mount the disk, blah, blah, blah.

I’ve got a good slogan for this feature.

AirDrop - It’s about fucking time.
