Quick Restaurant Review : Perrottas at The Gallery

First thing, this place is in Cairns, Australia, so you either need to live in Queensland, or put a lot of faith in my reviews and go there specially.

Perrottas at The Gallery is a place I stumbled upon in Cairns, amongst the ‘Hungry Jacks’ (Burger King to most of the world), and McDonalds. It’s situated outside an art gallery, outdoors, but in Cairns this is fine, as it’s warm all year round.

I went there twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. For lunch I had a barbecued octopus salad, most of the time, octupus can be like rubber, but this was outstanding, barbecued to perfection, it was great, probably the best salad I have ever had.

For dinner I had Spaghetti Arrabiata with crab, again outstanding, it’s a simple dish by definition, but it was as good as it could be.

For dessert, I ordered the licorice semi-freddo, which is somewhere between a mousse and an ice cream, it came with chocolate coated salted hazelnuts.

The semi-freddo was stunning, I’ve only tasted as good a dessert a Sketch, which is one of the best restaurants in London, if not the world, so to get this standard in the restaurant of an art gallery is amazing.

If you find yourself in Cairns, GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. It’s not even very expensive.
